"Estelle's Costume"

scroll down

'Umbrella Pants' were a style of drawers worn in the late 1800's with large, full leg openings. Estelle is wearing a 'Combination', which is a chemise and umbrella pants made into a one-piece undergarment. 'Combinations' of stylish undergarments were commonly worn in the late 1800's and early 1900's.

Over the 'combination' Estelle is wearing a black corset that laces up the back and buttons up the front, with attached garters for her stockings.

Her 20 piece body enables extensive fluid posability as seen here.

Under her gown, Estell wears a matching lace and ribbon trimmed petticoat.

Here is a full view of Estell's dress with elements from the famous Vincent Van Gogh painting "The Starry Night" The fabric of this gown is silk, designed and dyed by the artist herself.
