We will be making a white cotton morning gown inspired by the one Madeleine De Baine is wearing while on display at the UFDC Museum. This is the fifth gown in the MDB series.

This costume, which was inspired by an atique Huret dress, will be made from fine cotton with silk and velvet trim.
The project will fit the 12.5 inch resin body (15.5inch doll) or other similarly sized dolls.

And for the second workshop the project will be this Sand color and Lavender silk gown.

This Lovely red and yellow silk gown was offered January 16-19, 2017.


A Beautiful mourning gown of solid black silk with velvet trim and jet beads was offered January 21-24, 2017.

This will be the fourth costume study of the Madeleine De Baine wardrobe. Shown above is Madeleine's green walking suit with black overskirt that we will re-create in the workshop.

This was the third costume study of the Madeleine De Baine wardrobe. We made a white cotton pique, or faille, dress with elaborate braid work. Stunning!

A Beautiful gown of Ivory and Aqua silk, with gorgeous beaded lace trim was constructed in class. There are kits available for shipping now for those of you that were not able to attend. Contact Alice directly for information. All patterns and materials are included.

The second class at Polly's was this beautiful yellow and turquoise silk princess dress. It is an unusual and striking combination. Kits are available. Please contact Alice.

This is the second gown of Madeleiene De Baine to be offered as a museum study at UFDC. The gown is made of beautiful rose silk and has an elaborate overskirt bustle in the back. (Jewelry offered seperately)

This is the gown for the class project. A very romantic all cotton dress from the late 1870's.

and was hosted by United Federation of Doll Clubs


This costume was the first in a series of workshops studing the wardrobe of Madeleine De Baine, who is a magnificent French Fashion doll residing in the UFDC Doll Museum. The details are specific to the antique costume in all possible ways, and because the workshops will be held at the Museum, there is a unique oppotunity to see Madeleine and learn her story. Pretty cotton and silk dress with straw bonnet.

This costume is inspired by an antique and made of a tiny wool plaid trimmed in silk with hand made buttons to finish the ensemble.

We will be working with this lovely yellow and blue plaid silk taffeta. The costume was inspired by a late 1870's gown.

This is a beautiful recieving gown made from iridescent silk, trimmed with lace and silk fringe.

The project is a ball gown of stripe silk organdy. Just yummy!

This was a fun project with interesting use of stripes!
The fabric for this workshop is a tiny striped taffeta of dark navy (almost black) and cream. The above photo is of the inspiration gown, Front view of my prototype and back view of the same.

The costume is a winter walking suit with stole and muff, constructed of velvetine adorned with silk trimmings and beads.

The project was made in a very interesting paisley and diamond print cotton/silk blend of black, rust, and cream.

This promenade dress is circa 1868. It has a bodice and draped overskirt of green silk taffetta worn over a striped silk skirt. A velvet beaded hat is the perfect accessory. All Materials needed, pattern and instructions are included in the kit.
